Although I have not have any pubished articles I do have a couple of short essays I would like to share with you. Also some presentations and then general idea behind them.
May, 2011
I wrote this in May 2011 after I received the Humanitarian Civic Award for the City of Medicine Hat. I believe the main reason was because of the letters to the editor I write every month at least which has raised my public profile. Although I have been in non-profit groups for 20 years. If you wish to read this article email me and I will send it to you.
November, 2010
I wrote this after I took over the chair of the Poverty & Crisis Committee for the Crisis Assistance Network. It is about my story of the struggle to lift myself and my family to level of living that most people don't reach when they are on disability. If you wish to read this article email me and I will send it to you.
I can do any presentation you would like about Autism that you are interested in but I prefer to do a positive one. The ones that I have figured out are the following:
The Do's and Don'ts of Autism
This presentation is about communicating with autistics and how our brain functions differently. How we socialize differently, etc. How we need to be approached differently because of this.
Turning the Positives Into the Negatives -- It is all about the 'Tude
This presentation is about taking some autistic behaviours and showing them in a positive light.
Communicating With the Autistic in Your Life
Six simple rules to follow when communicating with people on the ASD.
Sensitivies & Emotions -- Handle Us With Care
The Hypo & Hypersensitivies of people on the ASD and yes we do have emotions and empathy.
